France – A dramatic lighting concept
Located in the very heart of Clermont-Ferrand, the Opera Theatre is an architectural masterpiece dating back to the end of the 19th century. Designed and decorated by the architect and sculptor Teillard Gourgouillon, this beautiful Italian style building can accommodate up to 600 people. Its exterior architectural features as well as its lobby, staircases of honor and painted dome make it really worth visiting. Closed for several years for a general restoration, the theatre reopened in 2013 after a huge modernization work, which enabled the complete renovation of the theater and its annexes involving also the general safety standards, audience comfort and scenic operating quality.
In early summer 2015, Clermont inhabitants discovered their theater under a new light, through the implementation of a new dynamic lighting system operated by Leblanc Illuminations. In order to replace the previous neon lights at the end of their useful life and already outdated, Leblanc Illuminations chose a dedicated LED solution based on an adjustable dynamic white light temperature configuration completed by a flexible alternation of lively, bright colors to enhance different city events.
12 Parade S-DW-60 bars in dynamic white configuration have been installed on the central part of the façade of the theatre while 18 Parade X-RGBW-48 modules have been distributed in pairs on the symmetrical side windows and balconies. The DMX programming has been set up in RDM with the help of the remote control WeeZerd 1. Pocket sized, WeeZerd 1 is a portable multifunctional digital device for the latest generation of LED colour changers and media display LED modules.
"With Griven products, we ensure our customers’ satisfaction providing a complete control over a comprehensive, high quality lighting system. The dynamic white configurations can create a combination of multi-colour temperature white tones which allow to achieve the most demanding architectural lighting concepts. The colour changing units can be easily programmed via RDM to manage the timetable according to the different seasonal events and their requirements" says Victor Baptista of Leblanc Illuminations.
PARADE S-DW-60 is a tunable pure white light modular and adjustable super flux, high luminance bar featuring 60 warm and cold white LEDs grouped in clusters of 4 LEDs each. Benefiting from state of the art dynamic white electronic colour temperature correction, PARADE S-DW-60 features the very latest premium quality high power LEDs, coupled with a variety of high build and design lenses, for the utmost optical efficiency and balanced projection even on close-up installations. The dynamic white configuration allows a combination of multi-colour temperature white LEDs, whose electronic mixing and calibration offer unmatched control over the creation of a vast range of the white light chromatic scale. The pure white light spectrum intensity management obtainable from this energy efficient solid state technology driven fixture creates a stunning visual rendering of warm tones, natural hues and cool shades altogether.
