Qatar - Lights shining like burning stars

Mainly hosted by the Museum of Islamic Arts,  the Doha Tribeca Film Festival has offered from October, 29th till November, 1st 2009, an unprecedented opportunity to celebrate cinema, culture and education in Qatar. Aimed at promoting filmmaking talent, Doha’s first international film festival has displayed the very best of Arabic and international cinema to the Qatari community, also hosting an exciting awards ceremony  on the closing night.
The manifold festival activities have been distributed on several venues, where the Qatar Museum of Islamic Arts has been the main ground for the opening and closing nights and Souq Waqif has been chosen for a special screening of the restored edition of  “The Mummy”.
GRIVEN colour changers, searchlights and image projectors have been successfully employed at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival by CCG: Kolorado 4000, Kolorglobe MK2 7000, Gobostorm Plus, Parade D-RGB 12, Arco FR 500W, 1000W and 2000W were there to light up the stars.
“All architectural lighting fixtures used to light up the Museum of Islamic Arts and the Souq Waqif locations are GRIVEN equipment. The museum lighting was arranged by the Lighting Designer Adam Bassett, while the Souq Waqif choreographic illumination was developed by Andrew Gardener,” said Jalal Dudin, Managing Director of Creative Communication Group. He also added: “The Qatar Museum of Islamic Arts was completely “gussied up” in blue while the buildings at Souq Waqif took on vivid, glowing changing colours.”
In early 2009, Creative Communication Group has been chosen by GRIVEN Italy as its Exclusive Dealer in Qatar. Creative Communication Group is a thriving full-service event management and production venture based in Qatar under the direction of managing partner Jalal Dudin, that has lately begun the supervision of GRIVEN architectural range distribution, as well.
